Three Summer Activities in Anaheim that Only the Locals Know

Since it is home to Disneyland, Anaheim is an extremely popular tourist destination. People come from all over the world just to visit the famous park and for good reason. Disneyland is definitely a place worth visiting.

If you are going to be spending some time in Anaheim this summer, or if you’re already living at Stonybrook Apartment Homes , there are other less well-known activities that you might want to try out, such as the hikes, farmers markets, and outdoor shows. If you want to experience Anaheim like a tourist, head to Disneyland; if you want to enjoy your summer in Anaheim like a local, try out these three summer activities.

  1. Go on Hikes

You might not know it, but Anaheim has a lot of neat places to hike. Some of the best local hikes include the Weir Canyon Trail , Oak Canyon Bluebird and Wren Trail , Anaheim Coves Trail , and Barham Ridge Trail . These hikes include a variety of distances and skill levels, so no matter the age group, you are sure to find something that’s a good fit.

  1. Check Out the Farmers Markets

It’s not summer without a trip to the farmers market! Anaheim has some unique farmers markets you should definitely check out if you have the chance.

First, there’s the Downtown Anaheim Certified Farmers Market and Craft Fair . Not only will you find fresh produce and ingredients from local farms, but you will also find one-of-a-kind food stands, craft stands, and boutiques.

Next, Anaheim isn’t far from the Orange Home Grown Farmers Market , which sells high-quality local produce and offers a “Park Your Paws” dog-sitting booth, where volunteers will take care of your dog while you shop around!

Finally, there’s Gamboa Berry Farms , which, according to the locals, is the best place to get fresh strawberries!

This summer, take some time to support local farms and vendors in Anaheim by stopping by these farmers markets. You’ll get quality products and have a good time shopping around!

  1. Attend Outdoor Concerts and Movies

This summer in Orange County, the OC Parks Summer Concert Series and Sunset Cinema Film Series are back! From June 18 to September 10, there will be 10 free concerts and 13 free movie showings. The concerts will be on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m., with the music beginning at 6:00 p.m. The movie nights will be on Fridays at 6:00 p.m., with the movie beginning at sundown. Visit the website to see a schedule of the events.

Now you know what the Anaheim locals know! If you haven’t yet, take your family or friends this summer to experience the local hikes, farmers markets, and outdoor shows here in Anaheim. We know you’ll fall in love with the city. When you do, consider moving to Stonybrook Apartment Homes in Anaheim, California!
